The early years…first seeds of purpose
My earliest money memory was watching my mom sit at our kitchen table, despair clouding her face, looking at bills, and glancing at a picture that read, "Lord, help me hang on one more day."
I learned a limiting belief: that financial struggle was inevitable. But God used that pain.
That memory is why I cannot tolerate women like you trading their calling for corporate crumbs. It is why my commitment is fierce: your financial plan must support your purpose, not crush it.
My First Financial Lesson… Choices Impact Futures
Early in my military career, I found myself in debt. Back then, I honestly thought paying bills was optional (bless my heart!). My commander's "punishment" was to create a debt payoff plan. That plan felt restrictive, but it forced intentional money choices.
A year later, my grandmother passed away. Because of the financial planning choices I'd been forced to make, I was able to cover the costs for both my mother and me to attend the funeral.
It was the first time I truly witnessed how intentional planning enables us to make meaningful, future-shaping decisions—to show up when it truly matters (for our family, for our calling, for our purpose).
That powerful lesson stuck with me. It forged the foundation of the READY+ Method's systematic approach: we prove that structure doesn't restrict your freedom; it funds your future and your calling.
